Reflections on the Pahalgam Attack

27/3/26

I am neither a slave of Pakistan nor an agent of India.

On April 22, 2025, we witnessed a brutal terrorist attack in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir. We strongly condemn this heinous act and demand that those responsible be swiftly identified and brought to the harshest justice. Any negligence in security must not be tolerated.

However, it is deeply concerning that some extremist Hindutva organizations and individuals are using this tragedy as an excuse to spread venom against Muslims across the country, blaming the innocent Muslim populace. We firmly denounce this hateful behavior as well. Holding an entire community accountable for the crimes of a few is both morally repugnant and fundamentally wrong.

Islam has unequivocally forbidden the killing of innocent lives. As Allah says in the Qur'an:

"Whoever kills an innocent person, it is as if he has killed all of humanity."

(Surah Al-Ma'idah, 5:32)

So, from an Islamic perspective, such attacks are absolutely condemnable, and terrorism has no place in Islam.

Meanwhile, Hindutva extremist groups have escalated their anti-Muslim violence

Muslim shops are being attacked and set on fire.

Muslims are being lynched and beaten in the streets.

'Boycott Muslims' trends are being aggressively pushed on social media.

Mosques are being targeted with violence.

Women, children, and the elderly are not being spared either.

Question

Are those attacking innocent Muslims not terrorists themselves?

Another horrific lie is being spread: "All Muslims are terrorists."

This is completely against the principles of the Qur'an, which repeatedly emphasizes that collective punishment is forbidden; judgment must be made individually.

"No bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another."

(Surah Al-An'am, 6:164)

Therefore, blaming an entire community for the crime of a few is utterly unjust and illegal.

Despite massive expenditure in the name of security in Kashmir, questions loom large

India has spent thousands of crores on security forces.

J&K Police budget allocation (2021-2024): ₹2,184 crores.

Other security sectors have received additional thousands of crores.

Yet

How did 26 people die despite this?

How did the attackers escape safely?

Even after 4-5 hours of combing operations across a 15 km area, no attacker was caught.

This suspicious failure raises serious concerns.

The Indian government has a history of distracting public attention whenever major crises emerge

China Issue

Between 2020-2023, China occupied over 1,000 sq km of Indian territory in Ladakh , even Indian generals have admitted this.

Rape Epidemic

Rapes in India are alarmingly high , on average, 87 rapes occur every day.

Farmers' Protests

During massive protests against the government, the media was manipulated to shift attention elsewhere.

Meanwhile, while massive scams and rapes are buried, comedians and ordinary citizens posting tweets are arrested to create distractions.

Recently, controversies have emerged over the BJP's plans regarding Waqf properties , aimed at controlling or seizing Muslim assets , sparking widespread alarm.

While it is not yet proven that the government was directly behind the Pahalgam attack, there is enough reason for suspicion. In the past too, crises have mysteriously erupted to divert attention from pressing issues.

We say clearly

The goals of terrorist groups and the ruling BJP government are frighteningly similar ,

To spread hatred and division among the people.

Terrorists want Hindus and Muslims to fight and destabilize the nation.

The BJP wants to spread fear among Hindus against Muslims to extract political gain.

The strategy is simple

Instead of fearing real terrorists or corrupt politicians, ordinary Hindus are brainwashed into fearing their Muslim neighbors.

Main Point

The goal is not to fight terrorism.

The goal is to make the word "Muslim" itself a symbol of fear.

Why?

Because if the public starts fearing real terrorists and real threats, they will start questioning the government:

"What are you doing to protect us?"

But if Hindus are made to hate Muslims, the government remains shielded from accountability.

This was never the case before 2014.

This climate of fear was systematically built after BJP came to power.

Instead of Hindus and Muslims fighting each other,

We should question the government

Who is truly responsible for the attack?

How did such a massive attack happen in a sensitive zone like Pahalgam?

Despite crores spent on security, why were 26 lives lost?

How did the attackers escape unchallenged?

Where is all the security money going?

Why is the government tolerating attacks on innocent Muslims?

Why do terror attacks conveniently happen whenever the government is under pressure?

Why are major scams and rapes being hidden, while comedians and social media users are harassed?

If India truly claims to be a secular and democratic country,

then why is hatred allowed to spread in the name of religion?

Conclusion

The terrorist groups and the BJP government share the same goal , to sow division among the people, to distract the public, and to enrich themselves.

Today, 26 people have died , how many more tomorrow?

The government must be held accountable.

It must ensure the safety of its people.

Or else, it will become clear who the real enemies of the country are.

We repeat

Muslims, Hindus, and all justice-loving people must unite against terrorism.

Targeting innocent Muslims is completely unacceptable.

The government must answer to the people.

The real criminals must be brought to justice.

Politics of hatred and violence must end.
